Danube: Sediment Shifts in Interstitial Space
(Donau: Schichtwechsel im Lückenraum)

a Danube-related project by Gebhard Sengmüller and Herwig Turk

From 2021 to 2024 – and in a significant departure from my usual artistic practice – I teamed up with fellow artist [Herwig Turk] to work on the extensive artistic-scientific research project "Danube: Sediment Shifts in Interstitial Space". For a new form of landscape representation, we combined scientific results with a variety of artistic methods to create a dense experiential space. We showed the results in solo exhibitions at Galerie Rauminhalt in Vienna and at the Lentos Art Museum in Linz. Also, a print publication is available.
